Frequently Asked Questions
The most important answers at a glance — or just write to us, we'd love to hear from you.
Take a soft measuring tape and measure the neck circumference just behind the ears, where the collar will sit later. Make sure not to pull the tape too tight — two fingers should still fit between tape and neck.
Our sizes:
- XS — 19–23 cm — 1.5 cm width
- S — 24–30 cm — 1.5 cm or 2.5 cm width
- M — 31–37 cm — 1.5 cm or 2.5 cm width
- L — 38–45 cm — 2.5 cm width
Every collar is infinitely adjustable within its size — so there's room for a growing coat or the odd extra snack.
Unsure which to choose? Write to us with the measured circumference — we'll advise you personally so it fits right the first time.
No problem. Within 14 days of receiving the goods you can send them back to us — we'll exchange them for the right size, provided the desired size is available. Within Germany, we cover the return shipping costs for exchanges due to wrong size or defects.
Your statutory right of withdrawal remains unaffected. You'll find more details in our withdrawal policy.
Absolutely. Jack Russell, Cocker Spaniel, small mixed breeds — anything that fits the size chart wears our collar just as well as a dachshund.
For adult dogs, yes — for puppies in the chewing phase, we recommend a simple training collar. Harris Tweed is robust, but puppy teeth are merciless.
Yes. Harris Tweed was originally woven for the harsh weather of the Scottish Outer Hebrides — for fishermen, hunters and country folk who had to rely on their clothing. The densely woven wool fabric is naturally water-repellent, tear-resistant and durable. Light moisture shakes off the collar before it penetrates the material.
For everyday use, a damp cloth is enough. For heavier soiling: wool detergent and careful wiping. Do not:
- put it in the washing machine
- dry it with a hairdryer
- place it on the radiator
Air dry — this keeps the tweed's shape and colour.
Only what has been handwoven on the Scottish Outer Hebrides may call itself genuine Harris Tweed — as required by a 1993 law. Every bale carries the official Orb seal of the Harris Tweed Authority.
Yes. Every piece is handcrafted in Hamburg. No mass production, no factory.
Yes — you'll find individual dog bow ties in the shop. They're made with a Velcro fastening and fit most dog collars. So you can easily switch the mood or the occasion.
For special requests — specific fabrics, engraving on the buckle, special sizes — send us an email. Much is possible, but better discussed directly.

Yes, within the EU and to many other countries. You'll see the exact shipping costs transparently at checkout — no surprises.
Please note: For deliveries outside the EU, customs duties and import VAT may apply, to be paid by the recipient. These charges are not included in the purchase price and are not covered by us.
As soon as your parcel is on its way, you'll automatically receive an email with the tracking link.
Send us a photo of the damage by email — we'll resolve the case individually with you and the carrier. Please send the damaged goods back to us; we'll cover the shipping costs. After inspection, we'll promptly send you a replacement.
Please note: In case of loss or damage during shipping, we need your help to file a claim with the carrier. If a parcel shows as delivered according to tracking but hasn't been received, we'll clarify its whereabouts together with the carrier (e.g. DHL, DPD).
For uncollected parcels returned to us, the renewed shipping costs for re-dispatch are on your side — unless the failed delivery was not your responsibility.

Yes, you have a 14-day right of return from receipt of the goods. Of course you may put the collar on and check the fit — just like in a shop.

Of course. Tell us which size or pattern you'd like instead. As soon as your return has arrived and been checked, we'll send the exchange — provided the desired item is available.
If it's not available, we'll get in touch with an alternative suggestion or refund the amount.
We understand you need to put the collar on to see if it fits — that's absolutely fine. As long as the goods were only tried on for inspection and not damaged, we'll happily take them back.
For returns with visible signs of use — such as dog hair, odour or significant wear — we reserve the right to withhold reasonable compensation or refuse the return.
